Akshaya Tritiya is a holy day for Hindus and Jains in India. This word comes from the Sanskrit words Akshaya, meaning prosperity, and Tritiya, meaning third phase of the moon. Akshaya Tritiya 2025 falls in the spring month of Vaishakha in the Hindu calendar. It is believed that on this day, starting new businesses and investments or purchasing gold and some valuable items brings prosperity and wealth. The Hindu community believes that on this day, Lord Krishna gives the Bhagwat Gita Gyaan to Arjuna. The Jain community believes that Lord Rishabhadev broke his long fast by drinking sugarcane juice. People do pooja, charity, and various rituals are performed. Using Tulsi in preparing food and offering prasad to others are the positive activities done on this day.
