It is proven that a number of factors influence the ability of a weatherproof tarp to work its magic; the type of material used comes in on top of the list. Some of the most common materials for high-quality weatherproof tarps include:
Polyethylene (PE): Polyethylene tarps are extremely dense, flexible and water repellant, therefore can be used in diverse forms of applications. They are generally painted with UV inhibitors to minimize effects of ultraviolet light on them.
Vinyl: Vinyl is thicker and more flexible than polyethylene and is nearly tear-proof across its surface. These tarps are best for industrial use as they are durable and also they are waterproof. Vinyl tarps are also coated in UV resistant materials so they are suitable for areas which are sunny.
