TYPE OF SOIL REQUIREMENT FOR HEMP CULTIVATION The hemp plant can be grown in different variety of soil types, they are mostly grown in deep, well-aerated soil with having pH level of 6 or more, along with good moisture and nutrient holding capacity.
Soil preparation is cardinal for hemp cultivation in India, and the soil must be well equated to let the roots of the hemp plants penetrate. Whereas a compounded layer may prevent the actual growth.
The most suitable soil for hemp cultivation is fertile, clay loamy, or silt loam soil with some alkalinity.
HEMP CULTIVATING STATE AND LEGALIZATION STATUS
The Uttarakhand state is prime amongst the other states for giving license for hemp cultivation in India, one can legally grow hemp, but given the situation, it should have a low THC content is less than 0.3%. Another state is UP, which has loosened the legal restrictions on hemp. Himachal Pradesh is soon going to be another state to grow hemp.
