Hair grew in the eye!!

A boy in his teens had been complaining about a growing lump in his right eye since he was a kid. On examination, a raised yellowish-white tumour was seen along the limbus from 7 o’clock to 9 o’clock, with small blood vessels on top of it. It had two hair shafts sticking out of it.

The signs and symptoms were typical of limbal dermoid. A lamellar keratectomy was used to remove the mass, and histology confirmed the diagnosis even more. Choristomas are what limb dermoids are, and they are harmless. Some of the things that may be inside them are hair, teeth, bone, and muscle. Surgical removal is sometimes needed for reasons of appearance.
