How PM SVAMITVA empowers property ownership in villages
we are committed to helping you turn this dream into reality with home loans.

The Survey of Villages Abadi and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas is an innovative initiative by the Central Government to provide comprehensive property validation for rural areas in India. Rural property owners get property cards as proof of ownership for their residential properties in villages.

Following a successful pilot phase in 2020-2021, the Central Government launched the PM SVAMITVA Yojana Scheme. The Ministry of Panchayati Raj manages this scheme in collaboration with the Survey of India, the State Revenue Department, and the State Panchayati Raj. It focuses on granting rural household owners a ‘Record of Rights’ through property cards and title deeds generated by drone-based land parcel mapping.

It aims to create precise and up-to-date land records for better planning and minimising disputes. This facilitates the assessment of properties as financial assets, aids in determining property taxes for rural development, and establishes a survey infrastructure that multiple departments can utilise.

How do you register for it online?

To proceed with the SVAMITVA Yojana registration formalities, you can do the following:

  • Go to the official website of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj (eGramSwaraj).
  • Choose the ‘Login’ option on the portal’s home page.
  • Select the ‘New User Registration’ option.
  • Provide information, including your name, residence details and contact information. Additionally, provide details about your land holdings in the registration form.
  • Review your form carefully before submitting it.
  • After clicking on ‘Submit,’ a confirmation receipt with the application number will be available.

Features and benefits

The SVAMITVA system utilises modern technology to accurately record land ownership in rural areas and resolve property disputes by issuing title deeds by the relevant authorities. Drones are used to conduct accurate land surveys, provide GIS maps for government use, and launch the eGram Swaraj app for data access and management. You also get several benefits from the SVAMITVA scheme, such as:

  • Now, owners can obtain property cards under this scheme, thereby exercising their due ownership rights. This reduces property disputes in rural areas and facilitates villagers’ access to Bank Loans more easily.
  • The rapid development of rural areas is made possible by the diligent mapping and demarcation of village properties.
  • Utilising drone technology and satellite mapping enables the accurate demarcation of individual properties.
  • The records of land ownership created enable proper tax collection, planning of new construction projects, and permit issuance.

Not only does the PM SVAMITVA Yojana Scheme benefit individual property owners, but it also enables the government to plan infrastructure programs in villages more effectively. The land identification utilises drone technology through pre-survey and drone survey activities, verification, validation, and the issuance of property cards.

Conclusion

The eGrama Swaraj scheme aims to enhance transparency in mapping and measuring rural residential lands using drones. After mapping, property cards are created for every house in the village. Individuals who have had property in inhabited rural areas since September 25, 2018, are eligible. They must also possess an updated Aadhar card.
